Why BLAH! phone needs the microphone
BLAH! phone places calls using WebRTC audio from your browser. The microphone captures your voice and sends it over an encrypted connection to the phone network. Without permission, the dialer cannot connect your audio to the call.
Chrome (desktop and Android)
When you start your first call, Chrome shows a microphone prompt at the left of the address bar. Choose Allow. If you previously blocked access, click the lock icon → Site settings → Microphone → Allow, then reload the page. If the site is open in a tab that lost permissions, close other duplicate tabs and try again.
Safari (macOS and iOS)
Safari prompts once per site for microphone access. Tap or click Allow. On iOS, also check Settings → Safari → Microphone and confirm BLAH! phone is not restricted. On macOS, you can reset decisions under Safari → Settings → Websites → Microphone.
If audio still fails
Confirm no other app is exclusively using the microphone, try a wired headset, and verify system-level privacy settings (macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone). BLAH! phone shows call quality feedback after calls—use it to report persistent issues.
